I’ve half-fixed my window switches and bought myself a mini toolbox. Ya know, just in case you ever wanna fix something on the side of the road, or you’ve broken something.....Or your stranded...
Among other things:
I’ve ordered a new DME relay to replace my original and failing unit that will be here tomorrow. I’ve been getting by on a custom made relay that a friend of mine made and gave me.
I’m preparing myself for some rust prevention and paint work I’ll have to do on the rocker panels this month...And also touch up the underbody.
I’m continuing to keep records of every significant repair and modification I make to the car; probably one of the greatest mods for the car itself is the maintenance
The timing and balance shaft belts will be retensioned this week and control arm bushings will be the next parts to be replaced at a later date.

It’s funny because I took the photo below when I first got the car inspected...I didn’t even know what Sixteen Candles was.

I keep a tool bag in my car and it’s new. So far I’ve only had to pull it out when I picked up a nail a few weeks ago. I did use it to help a lady who’s Volvo broke down.
It was great with the Corolla though. Did a bunch of basic maintenance away from home when I could take advantage of a garage. A few ratchets and wrenches could fix just about anything on that car.

It’s always handy to have basic tools. I hope one day your 944 reaches the level of indestructability that my first car a ‘88 VW Polo achieved. That car was ruined but just carried on regardless, consumed water and oil, never overheated. Drove over 300 miles in one day at 80mph without breaking a sweat all for £300/$470

Pretty in Pink is actually my favorite Hughes/Princess Molly movie, but I enjoy 16 Candles. That said, Long Duck Dong has not aged well as a gag. It’s hard to believe Hughes allowed something that blatantly racist.
As far as cars go, though, I’m partial to cars in PiP as well. Andie’s VW and Blaine’s BMW:
Looks like Blaine’s car is probably a 1985 318i e30, something like this:

We’ve done two 300 mile voyages in the car, 150 miles there and back. Never skipped a beat on those trips. The 944 has only broken down once and overheated once while I’ve owned it. It doesn’t consume any more oil than I put in and coolant is the same it seems.
If the mechanics don’t get destroyed, the potential rust spots will.

She’s named Erika? If I had one, you can guess what I’d name it .

That’s her name. But I don’t get it, Christina. What’s that name in reference to?

The song in the video.
Ms. Cristina drives a 944
Satisfaction oozes from her pores...
